Blessings beyond our dreams
August 14th marks my "anniversary date" as the Pastor at Maranatha Baptist Church. I wanted to have a guest preacher do the speaking at this service so I went online and after about 30 minutes of searching I found this list of preachers and picked out two preachers that I thought might be available based on their posting in the list.
The first one I contacted could not come as he had just last week accepted a call to be the pastor of a church in Weatherford, TX. The second was delighted to be asked and agreed to be my guest speaker. I was very happy and he said he would email me with details on who he was so I could make the appropriate announcements.
When I received his email I was blown away! Michael Clayton is the VP of Advancement and Chief Development Officer at the Criswell College in Dallas, TX! He has ministered to over 600 churches on 3 continents and has been used of God speaking to major companies (such as Re/Max) and the US Treasury Department.
This awesome man never mentioned his speaking fees or his background, he just said "thank you for the opportunity" to preach at my little church!
I had asked God to guide me and expected, I don't know, maybe a retired preacher or a young man just starting out. Instead God has provided a true modern day giant in the faith.
