Josh 9:16-19
Joshua 9:16-19
KJV 16 And it came to pass at the end of three days after they had made a league with them, that they heard that they were their neighbors, and that they dwelt among them. 17 And the children of Israel journeyed, and came unto their cities on the third day. Now their cities were Gibeon, and Chephirah, and Beeroth, and Kirjathjearim. 18 And the children of Israel smote them not, because the princes of the congregation had sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel. And all the congregation murmured against the princes.19 But all the princes said unto all the congregation, We have sworn unto them by the LORD God of Israel: now therefore we may not touch them.

16and it was not till the treaty had been three days in force, that they learned these men were close neighbours, and would share the land with them.
17The Israelites moved camp, and reached, two days later, the cities where these men dwelt, Gabaon and Caphira and Beroth and Cariathiarim.
18Shed blood they might not; had not the chieftains pledged themselves by an oath in the name of the Lord God of Israel? When the common folk assailed them with reproaches,
19the chieftains could only answer, We have taken an oath in the name of the Lord God of Israel; how can we touch them?
These are my thoughts, please share yours.
16 They learned after the they were tricked and lied to, the world’s lies may be exposed to us. It would be better for them to seek the Lord in the situation because He always sees past the lies.
17 They moved their camp towards them. This would have been a problem for many of us because here are these people that just made fools out of us, there many have been some of those in the camp who wanted to go over to attack but we got to go with God’s plans.
18-19 They couldn’t attack them because of the oath they had made so them being fooled and seeking God has caused a problem for them, when there are problems though God always has an answer.
