1 Sam 9:5-6

1 Samuel 9:5-6
KJV 5 And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us. 6 And he said unto him, Behold now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is an honorable man; all that he saith cometh surely to pass: now let us go thither; peradventure he can show us our way that we should go.

1 Samuel 9:5-6
Revised English Version

5When they had come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant who was with him, “Come and let us return, lest my father stop caring about the donkeys and be anxious for us.”
6But he said to him, “See now, there is in this city a man of God, and he is a man who is held in honor. All that he says surely comes to pass. Now let us go there. Perhaps he can tell us concerning our journey, which way we should go.”

These are my thoughts, please share yours,

5 They may have been gone awhile and while finding the donkey’s was important them being gone that long may have worried his father. They most likely were gone for days or even weeks. Saul wanted to return because it may have been clear to him that they weren’t going to be able to the donkey.

6 This man would be the prophet Samuel; they knew him as the seer. Samuel was a man that served the Lord and this is why he told only the things that would happen, he didn’t tell people want they wanted to hear but the truth.
