Testimonies

John 3:33 He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.

1 Corinthians 1:4-6 I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge; Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:

The scriptures show us that it is a good thing to share our testimony with each other. When we do so it lifts our fellow brothers and sisters up and brings honor and glory to God and our savior Jesus Christ. Please, won't you share yours with us?

Re: Testimonies

First let me say that I am so happy I found this board.

I first accepted Jesus into my heart in 1996 when I was 16 years old. I was on fire for God. I lived in Hawaii at the time. In 1998 I was about to start Bible College along with my mom and step dad to be ordained, when my grandfather in Portland Oregon grew very ill. I then came back to Portland (was born here) to be with my grandfather and watch over him. He passed soon after and I got involved with old friends. I started doing drugs and drinking. I did ALOT of drugs..everything you could think of. This carried on for about 5 years until I met my wife. Even after I met her, I still continued to drink and smoke marijuana. Through all of these times I had been homeless at one point, Carrying guns, had people around me dying from drug abuse. But I am here to say, GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!! Through all of this, I always wanted God to save me, and I would always pray, but I didnt want to do the footwork. I went through all of this for a reason. Why? I dont know but there is a purpose for everything. My wife even though she was smoking marijuana with me, prayed for me. And my mom and step father have never ceased praying for me. I want to say that, 4 weeks ago, I was taking a shower, and had my ipod plugged into an ipod base that allows you to play it out loud without earplugs. Anyway, I was taking my shower, and the Song "Love Song for My Saviour" by Jars of Clay came on. That was it...I broke down and started crying. God had been pulling on my heart for so long. Right then and there I was freed from my bondage and asked God into my life. If felt like I was whole again. All the emptiness I had been trying to fill was there once again. I am so thanful to God for His Faithfulness, Forgiveness, and Mercy. My wife quit smoking marijuana too!
Acts 16:31
"And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
AMEN!!

Now I have a word for everybody to share.

Worship God with all of your heart, mind and spirit. Most importantly, in the hard and difficult times. These are the most powerful times of worship. When worshipping in these times, it shakes the enemy and Glorifies God. Bondages will be broken doors will be closed in your life and God will open the doors for everything that is Righteous. Remember the story of Paul and Silas....They were Beaten and thrown in prison, where they sang hymns aloud, just worhipping God. Do you think they felt like worshipping? Probably not. But they did, and what happened? They were ultimately freed from their prison. Amen!

You can read about this in Acts 16.

God Bless you all!

 emoticon to ITB Naledge emoticon,

Your testimony is wonderful and it blessed my heart to read how God never gave up on you. May the Lord continue to help you and lift both you and your wife up as you continue in The Way...
